VidSee6 Head-Mounted Display™ The Vidsee6 is an exclusive video see-through head-mounted display with eye-centric cameras. The use of two mirrors to fold the optical paths of the stereo cameras allows for the centers of the camera lenses to coincide with the centers of the eyes, providing 100% registration of video see-through and peripheral imagery. During rendering, one can synchronize the captured video imagery with the synthetic imagery, a well-known advantage of video-see-through technology which helps enhance the wearer’s sense of presence in the computer-augmented environment (shown below).
The brochure for the VidSee6 HMD is available for download on the right. Shown below, integrated infrared tracker beacons are mounted onto the top of the Vidsee6 HMD. A standard Flashpoint connection interface is supplied. Additionally, two mounting holes and a flat surface are provided on the top surface of the unit for mounting of other types of trackers. Synchronization and registration of real-world and synthetic imagery can be completely controlled, avoiding the “swimming” or lag commonly experienced in optical see-through HMDs.
